The latest chapter opens up where we left off in chapter 135, where we see that the guy who was behind Ijin all this time, calls him, and reveals that when he finds him, he thought he was just someone who looked familiar, he couldn’t believe he was the same person, just with a similar face, because he has changed so much. 

This guy says to Ijin that he made him like that, he sure is living his life pretending to be a normal person, acting like nothing is wrong. He doesn’t even ask about the hostage and that is where he wonders why actually is Ijin keeps pretending he didn’t recognize that it is his family in the end.

Mercenary Enrollment Chapter 136: Recap and Review

Later in the chapter, we see that this guy while talking through the hostage’s phone says that that phone has his name as “Beloved Ijin” and that is why he is wondering what should he do with her. 

This was when Ijin asks him how is the hostage, and he replies by saying that he is still alive for now, however, his breath depends on what Ijin does with this. When Ijin says to him that he wants to hear his voice, this guy says that he is in no position to make the demand. 

After that, this guy says to Ijin that from now on he will do everything he wants him to do to make things work in his favor. He says that he should never try to contact anyone or ask for help, he says that if he finds someone who is helping him, he will kill the hostage and disappear. 

The kidnapper also says that he will not the phone that he is currently using anymore, which is why Ijin has to answer any call from unknown numbers. After he hangs up, he will send him a message with his next action, and he should follow his instructions. In addition to that, the kidnapper also says that the girl living with Ijin is quite cute and asks him if she is his sister, and hangs the call.

At the same time, he runs towards him to find Dayun, and when he reaches there, he finds that Dayun is nowhere to be found. With this, he gets a message from an unknown number with an address. With the help of this, the kidnapper orders him to arrive at the location in 20 minutes, and if he is even one second late he will kill the hostage.

Later in the story, we see that when Ijin arrives at the mentioned location, he gets a call from the kidnapper, who says that he is not that late, which means that he hasn’t asked for help anywhere else, and this is also when Ijin finds out that Mad Dog is watching him from somewhere, and also believes that he had set up cameras there.
